Mrida is a handloom tussar silk saree in the colours of the earth. Large golden-ochre leaf imprints glow against a deep, soil-brown base, with soft shifts of tone that give the fabric the look of sun-warmed ground.
Her name comes from mrida, the Sanskrit word for soil, and the saree carries that grounded warmth. The leaf prints are made by placing real leaves on the fabric, bundling and steaming them, and releasing them once they have left their own imprint. Every shape and every variation in colour comes from the leaf and the process, which means no two Mridas are ever alike.
Tussar's raw, organic texture suits eco-printing well. It's light to wear, drapes gracefully, and the earthy palette is easy to style with almost anything. She's a lovely choice for festive days, gatherings and any occasion where you'd like to wear something with a story.
Note: All pictures are taken in daylight. We try our best to represent the original colour accurately, but slight colour variation may occur due to digital photography and different screen resolutions.
Handmade and handloom products may have minor irregularities such as extra threads, knots, dye marks, motif variations, or weaving differences. These are natural characteristics of handcrafted textiles and are not considered defects.
